1967… A Message From The County Master
July 15th, 1967 . . . . A Message from the County Master
Brethren
I wish to bring you greetings on behalf of the County Lodge of Toronto in this Canada’s 100th year of Confederation. Our Centenary means a great deal of things to many people, but to us as Orangemen I believe I believe it is a justification for our existence as an organization.
We as Orangemen have played a very important role in the development of this great county, not just as citizens but as leaders and workers towards making this Canada a land where free men of the world can live and prosper. A land where men can worship God as they see fit and raise their families in the knowledge that no man can discriminate against them because of race, colour or religion.
During 1967 we have heard a great deal of what different communities are doing in the way of Centennial projects and the Orange Order is no different. We, as an organization in Ontario, have our Sentinel Bible Project and the Ladies Home for Senior Citizens in Orillia.
Brethren, I would like to propose yet another project. That is as Orangemen we will strive to maintain the high ideals and principles of this Association and do all within our power to ensure that when Canada celebrates her 200th birthday the Orangemen of that day can look back with pride on another 100 years of contributing towards Canada’s greatness.
God Save the Queen
