Silver Jubilee of Imperial LOL 2767
Toronto Telegram – February, 1945
Honored by the presence of Fred C. Cook of Bradford, grand master of Ontario West and an array of grand officers and past grand masters, Imperial L.O.L.2767 celebrated its 25th anniversary with a lodge meeting and banquet in the Temple Building, and it was one of the most successful Orange functions held in the war years.
The hall was gaily and artistically decorated for the occasion and a series of unique events and presentations marked the celebration. Tribute was paid to the co-founders of the Imperial Lodge, W.E.Floody and C.B.Brown, who were given full credit for 25 years of steady progress and service to the order, particularly in ritualistic proficiency and in promoting fidelity to the faith and loyalty to Canada and the Empire.
“Father” Is Honored
W.E.Floody, “Father of the Lodge” who presided for the initiation and at the banquet, was presented with an emblematic ring, and he and H.L.Hanly, like their fathers before them, were recipients of Orange veterans’ jewels. A Christian Flag was received by the lodge in memory of the late George H. Knapp, P.M. R.D.Stanley; P.M. on behalf of Verral L.O.L.1691 presented a “traveling album” to Imperial lodge for the purpose of promoting inter-lodge visitation.

Speakers to the toast besides the Grand Master included W.C.Clarke and W.T.Clarke, father and son, who founded the Star of Bethlehem Lodge at London Ont., at the same time that Imperial Lodge was organized 25 years ago in Toronto. The former, now 80 years and one of the oldest masters in Canada, is W.M. of the lodge at Merriton.
